How to use the tool
Build words from the letters you have
1. Enter a letter rack
Type between 2 and 15 tiles. Order does not matter, repeated letters are counted, and each ? wildcard can supply one missing letter.
2. Choose exact or shorter
Use all letters to find exact anagrams. Use some or all to include shorter words of at least two letters.
3. Add advanced constraints
Use Starts, Ends, Contains, Excludes, Length, or required board letters. Board letters add fixed inventory; ordinary filters only narrow the result.
4. Refine the results
Switch between CORE and the broader CORE + EXTENDED set, then sort by usefulness, length, base Scrabble points, or alphabetically.

Use only the clues you know
Starts and ends
Enter a literal prefix or suffix. For example, Starts with st keeps words beginning ST, while Ends with er keeps words ending ER.
Contains
Enter consecutive letters that must appear anywhere in the result. Contains ar matches words with AR together, not merely an A and an R in separate positions.
Length
In shorter-word mode, set one exact result length or leave it blank. Exact mode uses the full rack plus every required board letter.
Wildcards and board letters
A ? replaces one missing rack letter. Board letters must appear in every result and are removed before the tool checks what the rack and wildcards must supply.
Excludes
Enter letters that cannot appear anywhere in a result. Excludes is a filter, not negative rack inventory.
Dictionary and sorting
Start with CORE for the narrower list, or include extended words for broader coverage. Sort by usefulness, length, base points, or A–Z after the letter rules are correct.
Data and scoring
Verified spelling data, transparent limits
Results use the same pinned, verified US-English word data as the site's 2–15 letter Finders. CORE and EXTENDED are documented internal word-data tiers, not invented popularity scores.

FAQ
Word Unscrambler questions
How do the Starts, Ends, Contains, Excludes, and Length filters work?
Starts and Ends match a boundary, Contains matches consecutive letters, Excludes removes words with any ruled-out letter, and Length selects one result size. Every remaining letter must still be supplied by the rack, a wildcard, or the required board letters.
Does the Word Unscrambler handle repeated letters?
Yes. The tool counts every letter in the rack and rejects a word if it needs more copies of a letter than you entered.
What is the difference between the two search modes?
Use all letters returns words with exactly the same length and letter counts as the rack. Use some or all also returns shorter words containing at least two letters.
Can I use blank tiles or wildcard characters?
Yes. Enter up to two question marks in the rack. Each wildcard can replace one missing letter, while displayed points remain the word’s base tile total rather than a rack-specific blank-tile score.
What are board letters?
Board letters are required letters already supplied outside the rack. Every result must contain all of them; the remaining letters must come from the rack or its wildcards.
